MIXED NEWS FOR SRJC FACULTY IN CHANCELLOR'S LATEST SALARY REPORT
The latest Statewide Detail Report from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) on 2009-10 salaries for both adjunct and annual contract faculty had both good news and not-so-good news for SRJC faculty.
First, the good news: SRJC’s adjunct faculty average hourly rate continues to be among the best in the State. Based on the 2010 report, SRJC’s adjunct faculty average hourly rate is 19 percent above the overall state average, and ranks tenth of the seventy-two California community college districts. (See Table 1.)
Second, the not-so-good news: The average SRJC annual contract faculty salary slipped below the overall state average for the first time since the CCCCO began reporting this data. According to this year’s report, SRJC’s average annual contract faculty salary has fallen 0.1 percent below the overall state average, ranking thirty-second of seventy-two districts in the State. PARKING IN SANTA ROSA "B" LOT
Together AFA and the Parking & Transportation Committee pressed the District to restore reserved faculty- and staff-only parking in "B" lot between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. As a result, any faculty or staff member with a valid staff parking permit will once again have a good chance of finding a space in the late afternoon.
AFA wishes to remind all faculty that parking is a working conditions issue. Article 19 of the AFA/District contract requires that all faculty have access to parking. (Click here to read Article 19.)
